Inside Wire

The scope of work involves the electrical systems and foundations found in any commercial or industrial building. The program consists of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 1,000 hours of classroom education. When the Inside Wire apprenticeship is completed and an apprentice passes the Washington State Electrical Journey test, they will hold a (01) General Journey Level Electrician certification from the State of Washington.

Minimum requirements to apply to this program

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be a high school graduate or have a GED.
  • Must have completed one (1) full year of high school Algebra with a grade of “C” or better OR one (1) quarter of college Algebra with a grade of “C” or better.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Limited Energy

The installation, testing, service, and maintenance of systems that use the transference and/or transmission of voice, sound, vision, and digital data for education, security, medical and commercial purpose is taught in this program. The Limited Energy program consists of 4,800 hours of on-the-job training with 600 hours of classroom education. When an apprentice completes this program and passes the Washington State Electrical test, they will hold an (06) Limited Energy Journey Technician certificate.

Minimum requirements to apply to this program

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be a high school graduate or have a GED.
  • Must have completed one (1) full year of high school Math with a grade of “C” or better OR one (1) quarter of college Math with a grade of “C” or better.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Residential Wire Program

Wiring of homes and small apartment buildings not exceeding three stories is the focus of the Residential program. Receptacles, switches, lighting, electrical heat, heat pumps, etc. are covered. This program consists of 4,000 on-the-job training hours, and 400 classroom education hours. When an apprentice completes this program and passes their Washington State Electrical test, they will hold an (02) Residential Journey Level Electrician certificate.

Minimum requirements to apply to this program

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be a high school graduate or have a GED.
  • Must have completed one (1) full year of high school Math with a grade of “C” or better OR one (1) quarter of college Math with a grade of “C” or better.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
