Fred Berg Fred began his career in 1978 as a stockman with DW Close Electric. In 1983, he completed his apprenticeship with the PSEJATC. He was employed by Cochran Electric for 25 years, working in the Special Projects/Service Division as a foreman and general foreman. Many of those years were spent working on industrial projects in the food processing industry, with extensive involvement with PLCs, as well as process and motor controls. After 30 years in commercial electrical construction, Fred retired in the summer of 2008, to accept a position as a fulltime instructor at the PSEJATC. Fred looks forward to passing on to new apprentices the technical and practical skills needed to succeed as a commercial wireman. He is a native born Washingtonian, having grown up in the North Cascades on Seattle City Light's hydroelectric project at Diablo Dam. Fred and his wife, Vicky, have been married for 37 years and have two grown children. |

Bruce McBride Bruce completed the apprenticeship program here in Seattle in 1983 and he has enjoyed working in the electrical industry ever since. |

C.J. Lemmon Began his electrical career in 1964 when he was employed by the Anaconda Copper Company as an apprentice lineman. In 1970 he left Anaconda to work in the electronics field and then in 1976 began teaching electronics at North Seattle Community College. C.J. then transferred to Renton Technical College where he taught electronics for 23 years before teaching full time at PSEJATC. C.J.'s contribution to PSEJATC has been teaching 3rd, 4th and 5th year commercial electrician curriculums over the past 6 years. C.J. says, "I have never been more contented or happy," and his favorite quote is: "If it's worth doing it's worth doing right." Favorite number? P Of course! 3.1415926535897936...etc |

Kathleen Maloney After completing a B.F.A. at Alfred University and then completing a multiple trades program at Renton Technical College, Katie turned her attention to the electrical industry. She then completed her Electrical Apprenticeship in 1993 with PSEJATC and obtained her Washington State Journey Electricians Certification. Continuing on with training, Katie completed numerous related electrical classes including High Voltage Cable Splicing, Foreman Training, IBEW Leadership Training, Master Instructor's Training at the University of Tennessee and "Summer School for Union Women" at Evergreen State College. Katie began teaching part time at PSEJATC in 1999 and has taught full time apprenticeship classes since 2005. |

Dane Matthiesen Dane spent most of his career in service-related work as well as construction of all sizes. He enjoys sharing his experiences in the trade with his students. He is the father of 3 great kids and is a grandfather. |

Bob Pringle Bob has been in the telecommunications and low voltage installation field for over 40 years. He started his communications career in the Army as a radio mechanic and operator in 1964 and ended his active employment when he retired from Holmes Electric in Renton after 15 years as a Project Manager and designer. Bob is a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), a BICSI technician as well as a certified installation instructor for all the BICSI installation courses. Bob has taught in the Sound and Communications apprenticeship for nine years. |

Joe Kraft Joe is an instructor who began teaching at the PSEJATC in July, 2009 having served three years as an instructor in the marine electrical program at IBEW Local 46. Joe brings with him ten years experience as an inside wireman, working for electrical contractors such as Veca Electric and Communications, Inc., Valley Electric, Inc., and Cochran Electric, Inc. Joe served his apprenticeship at PSEJATC where he received awards for high academic achievement and for perfect attendance. He also studied electronics at Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington where he earned an Associate's Degree and studied Audio Engineering at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington where he earned a Bachelor's Degree. Joe and his wife, Dorothy, will be celebrating their fifteenth wedding anniversary in September. They have a daughter, Danielle, 11, who is home-schooled and loves to read fantasy fiction. |

Laurie Myers Laurie Myers completed her Electrical Apprenticeship in 1992 and obtained her Washington State Journeyman Electricians license. She began teaching for the PSEJATC in 1992 at the satellite locations in Bremerton and Port Angeles. In 2007, Laurie also began teaching Journeyman classes on the Peninsula. She has completed the NJATC Instructor Curriculum. Her favorite years to teach are 1st and 2nd year.
